During the organisation of the international exhibition “The world of Charles and Ray Eames” - together with Barbican & Vitra - we asked Dierbaar Design to restore an original Eames prototype. Gerry’s extended knowledge about restoration and preservation of design items is remarkable as well as his passion for the job.
— Hanna, C-Mine Genk, Belgium
Dierbaar Design managed to restore our pieces almost invisible, as good as the original. We are proud to say our design pieces received a second life thanks to Dierbaar Design. Also no surprises when it comes to the price quote and the invoicing; a fair business and excellent service.
— Karen & Wim Denkens, Belgium
Passion is what drives Dierbaar Design. True craftmanship with an extraordinary attention to details. They have a tremendous respect for the design object as well as for the owners. I’ve been a happy client for years and many years to come!
— Door Beutels, Belgium

About the founder

I started dierbaar design in 1998 as a passion for objects with a history. After a couple of years i had the opportunity to turn my passion into my profession. having the best craftsmen as tutors and with a lot of patience and passion for the job, i learned all the different skills to restore each piece of furniture into their natural glory.

what’s in a name : “dierbaar”

“Dierbaar” is the Dutch word for beloved. you only call objects beloved when they are close to your heart. Objects can become beloved through the way they were given to you, the way you found them or the way you treat them. To us every piece we restore is beloved and so is treated as such, without compromises and with a tremendous respect for the origin of each piece.
